Name: Julie Avans
About Julie: Julie was a year-round high-school athlete who turned to group exercise classes in college as a way to stay fit and maintain athleticism. She began teaching classes in 2005 at Penn State and has taught ever since. She enjoys watching clients, participants and new instructors achieve their goals. While Julie loves teaching classes she likes to take her workouts outside whenever possible. In spare time she enjoys playing softball, hiking, biking, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing, beaching going, concert going (she is a big country music fan!) and of course spending time with her husband Carl, son Wesley and daughter Ellie.
What to expect when taking Julie’s class: Expect an eclectic playlist with music to match the mood of each drill. Julie will not only push you, but she will give you tools to motivate yourself!
Certifications: Schwinn Indoor Cycling Instructor, Tulaa Barre Instructor, Yoga Fit Level 1 Certification, Kettlebell Concepts Instructor, Licensed Zumba Instructor, ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor & ACE Certified Personal Trainer. She also has a BS in Nutrition and MS in Exercise Science, and currently teaches an ACE Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor Training Course.
